A unique new way to enjoy your tea

As an avid tea fan, I was more than thrilled when I came across this cute strainer on the Nylon Blog. Shaped like an underwater diver, this strainer would  give me even more of an excuse to enjoy my tea every day at all hours of the day. When the strainer is not in use, it could even serve as a cute little trinket to spice up your kitchen counter. At $20, I think it is worth every cent because it is something that can be used over and over. So go grab your favorite loose tea (Bangkok Lemongrass from Teavana for me) and enjoy your tea in style!

Check it out here.

Tweet all about it: Social media's answer to downloadable literature

Thanks to indie publisher Keyhole Press, your next e-read is a mere tweet away.  As a way for underground authors to gain exposure and disperse their written work through social network Twitter, select titles are availble for free download in exchange for a tweet on Keyhole's site.  I'm in the process of downloading my first free e-book, One of These Things Is Not Like The Others, a collection of short stories by Stephanie Johnson.  All books available for download are compatible with Amazon's Kindle, the iPad, iPod Touch, and other e-reader devices.

"Normal Gets You Nowhere," says PR queen Kelly Cutrone

If you have ever watched MTV's "The Hills" or "The City," chances are you've witnessed the PR megafirm People's Revolution, owned by Kelly Cutrone.  I have always admired Cutrone's work ethic and seemingly cutthroat standards in the realm of fashion PR and branding, so I am more than excited to hear about Cutrone's new book, "Normal Gets You Nowhere," hitting book stores on May 3!  Watch below to hear Cutrone's quick take on her newest book:

Earthfest 2011!

I may not be perfect when it comes to being environmentally friendly, but I'm still a sucker for anything that has to do with saving our environment. This past weekend I got the chance to attend Earthfest and write an article about it for The Colonnade, Georgia College's newspaper. The festival ended up being more fun than I imagined it would be.

One of my favorite activities at the festival was painting on the big mural. This gave the festival attendees the freedom to express their creativity. Being the artistically challenged person that I am, all I could paint was a blob of color with glitter on it. I decided to just tell people it was abstract and the meaning behind it was way to deep for them to understand. That excuse always works.

The most popular thing at Earthfest actually ended up being a giant inflatable world. People were taking turns trying to jump on top of the world and see who could stay on it the longest. It was definitely a very amusing thing to watch!

The festival stayed true to their environmental awareness theme by hosting vendors who were selling homemade jewelery, air-filtering plants and "seed balls" (balls of dirt with various seeds inside them that you can throw and watch them grow!). I thought these earrings were absolutely precious. I never would have thought that beer bottle caps would make such cute jewelery!

All in all, Earthfest was a very entertaining and informative festival.

And remember:
Always recycle, and always turn lights and appliances off if you're not using them!
It may not seem like a lot, but a little goes a long way!
